Zooburst Directions

The following directions are OS specific (7.0, Windows) and will have to be altered in some cases
To convert a PPT into ZooBurst (must be a premium member)
·        Create the PPT presentation first
·        On a computer, go to zooburst.com and sign in
·        Go to ‘my stories’ at the top
·        At the right, under premium features, click on ‘import PowerPoint 2007’
 
To create an ebook at the ZooBurst website and to view on a computer
·        Go to http://zooburst.com/ and sign up for a free account (name, age, email, etc.)
·        When registration is complete, go to your email – the password will be within the email
·        Login at Zooburst.com, use the password that was sent to you upon registration (go to ‘profile’ to change password)
·        Click on ‘my books’ at the top, click on ‘new book’
·        Enter the title of the book and a short description
·        Choose who can see this book (if you choose ‘only people with a valid password,’ the ‘password for protected book’ field will be filled in for you - password should be given to whomever will view the book
·        Choose yes or no as to if other users can comment on this book, click ‘save’
·        The next page will be ‘Build your book’ and a work area showing an open book will appear
·        When the words “what is happening on this page” appear,  start writing the first page of the book
·        Click on the ‘public stuff’ tab at the top left, make a choice – it will appear in your picture
·        Use the mouse to move it around and use the editing features on the right (appearance tab)
·        Can use ‘duplicate’ to apply the changes to all items
·        Click in the bubble box to add text, use quotes for what each picture is saying
·        Bring in another picture using the ‘public stuff’ tab again
·        Click ‘add a page’ icon (a plus sign) below the book pages - the background window appears at the right in place of the ‘appearance’ tab
·        Click ‘preview page’ to see what it looks like or use the page manager icon below the book page
·        Choose ‘book background’ at the right
·        Items can also be added that won’t pop up and they’ll remain in the background – click on ‘background’ (below the image window) – an editing window will appear that shows for changing colors of sky and grass 
·        When finished, click on the ‘save book’ button at the top right of the book page
·         ‘Tag’ with name and give it a ‘description’
·        Click on the ‘my stuff’ button at the top right
·        Wait for the book to start and use the arrows to move through the book
·        There are choices below the book window - ‘embed this book,’ i.e.
·        To View a book on a computer or on an iPad, install the free app if using an iPad or go to the Zooburst website and log in if using a computer - print the book and either hold the printed page up to a web cam attached to a computer or to an iPad - the book will start when the webcam or Zooburst app on the iPad recognizes the code - if on an iPad, click the 'screen' button at the top right and move the iPad away from the coded sheet and use the arrows on the book to page through 

·        Premium and school license users - to print the ebook for a Story Code, visit "My Books" page and click on the "Story Code" option next to a book. You can also print out a story code for student books by visiting a student's book library, clicking on the "Manage Student Books" button and then on the "Story Code" option next to a book
